C# and Java Programmers

Responsibilities:
Applicant will be responsible for developing code for various digital-radio-based products.  Activities may cover all aspects of development, from concept through final product delivery, working independently or as part of a group.
•    Code proficiency for this job is C, C#, Java, Javascript or others as applicable. Operating platforms are Linux, OS X, Windows and/or mobile platforms. Expertise is required in the appropriate area(s).
•    Become familiar with the Wind River Linux kernel, as appropriate.
•    Become familiar with an existing code base and make modifications, as required. Writing technical specifications for the effort is part of the development process.
•    Understand written and/or verbal requirements.
•    Assist in creating a functional specification, if needed. Create technical specifications. Plan out the execution of the programming task, including an estimation of the time needed. The use of sequence and UML diagrams may be required.
•    Work with Test Technicians to create further developmental and final product testing. One-on-one interaction may be required as well as working with the entire Test Team.
•    Perform or assist in identifying the root cause of defects found by the Test Department or in the field. Create action plans for the resolution and in many cases modify code for a robust solution, Root cause / problem solving ability.
•    Document work planned and executed. Code commenting and release notes following accepted industry standards.



Knowledge & Skill Requirements:
Three (3) years professional experience programing.  Knowledge of developing Linux kernels for use with PCs is a plus. Applicant must be able to demonstrate the ability to individually write code from concept through final product. Occasional travel may be required. BS degree or equivalent is required.

Test Technician 

Responsible for testing of software and hardware products developed by Trident and others to insure quality performance.

Responsibilities:
• Perform functional, regression and expert testing. Follow test scripts for initial or regression testing. Perform expert testing based on knowledge of the products under test.
• Develop various tests for quality performance. Using knowledge of radio operation and the products under test, develop tests that will demonstrate the quality of the product.
• Write test scripts. Create test scenarios, test scripts and other test documents for use in testing. The tests then may be executed either by the test lead or others.
• Document testing activity. Create sufficient documentation so that others may understand what is tested, how it is tested and the results of the testing.
• Interface with developers to create effective tests. Work with developers of software or hardware to develop tests that will stress the product to the limits documented in the specification and to insure a quality product. Create a specification if necessary.
• Log defects and interface with developers. Log all defects into a defect tracking database and work with developers in resolving them. Close defects as they have been corrected and tested. Review all defects to insure a quality product.
• Make occasional site visits. As needed, travel to various sites to understand and resolve issues. Perform diagnostics and testing.

Marginal Functions:  
Marginal Functions will vary with the specific assignment and depend on the particular unit or function for which the person is responsible. Consideration will be given on a case by case basis and reassignment of marginal duties will be made when appropriate.

Knowledge & Skill Requirements: 
Prior experience and knowledge of radio operation and theory, AA or BS degree or equivalent.
Amateur Radio License – Preferred but not required. License can be obtained while at Trident.
